Building spiritual Movements everywhere
The Albanian Campus ministry spreads over five cities in Albania and as well into Kosovo, Turkey and now this fall, for the first time, in Macedonia. Four Albanian staff were sent out this fall to start a work among the 700,000 unreached Muslim Albanians in the country of Macedonia. The total number of Albanian Campus staff grew to 63 with the addition of 8 new staff who join staff in the fall and serve with Campus ministry.
This fall also marked the total “indigenization” of the Albanian Campus Ministry as Nikolin Dodaj was commissioned in the role of National Campus Director on January 3, 2008.
We have seen God work in us and through us in great ways in places that are relatively open to the gospel and places that are not so open. There are many stories of faithfulness and fruitfulness in our campus ministry. In the fall alone (October- December), we have seen 244 students who have accepted Christ. Our statistics show that during this period we took the initiative and shared the gospel 1689 times with students. God’s hard has been at work and has blessed his children as they have willingly obeyed.
Our vision is to see “Movement’s Everywhere” and at the core of this is spiritual multiplication among students. In Tirana this year we have seen growth in this area. As a local campus ministry they became aware last year that the next step in the process of building multipliers was to build people that take initiative. One of the best ways to encourage initiative with young students is to create a easy opportunities for them to get involved in evangelism. To provide this opportunity they simply decided that every
Monday they would meet together at the center square of the campus, pray, pair up and go. From this simple practice we saw a growing number of students who shared their faith. From last year where there were about 6-7 students who were regularly involved in evangelism, this year there are around 25! And with this we have seen God’s faithfulness and discovered something very interesting. Typically we have seen around 10% of students who hear the gospel with staff express a decision for Christ, but when they hear the gospel from students – over 30% express a decision for Christ!
